I Have Had Real Conversations Like This

Check out this parody of Orthodox Jewish matchmakers. It also works as a demonstration of the Poe Law; it is impossible to satirize religious fundamentalists as there will be someone out there for whom it is an accurate description. For those readers who have not experienced the world of Orthodox dating, it often really is this absurd.

I think this is funny but they speak in monotone and the matchmaker (shadchan) is wearing pants and they mispronounce words.

This is part of a new(ish) online thing, where you write a script and "standard" cartoon characters read the script. They are all in monotone, and you can't choose how they are dressed.

There are other ones, like, "So, you want to get a PhD in the humanities?" and more that I've forgotten.

Anonymous, you criticized the vocal tone and the attire but not the fact that it depicts dog-bear hybrids as being Jewish and able to speak? ;)

It reminds me of how the author of Far Side made a strip once where a male mosquito was discussing his drinking blood. As the author puts it, readers would write to him complaining about how a male mosquito was drinking blood, and he - i.e. author - would wonder why these readers didn't mind that a mosquito was speaking English.
